My 1st Anniversary

I have returned home - last night - from what I have dubbed 'my village month'! Aside from a 7 day conference at the beginning of the month, I have spent every week in a Fulani village! I started the month out with a medical team from Beulah Alliance in Edmonton and I finished the last two weeks helping with a survey on health and well-being in two villages.

These times in the village were incredibly helpful with my language study, forcing me to use the language and to learn & listen to different accents as I tried to capture what was being said to me. Sometimes it worked and sometimes it did not! Especially in the last week, I learned more of the love of laughter in this culture as I lived alongside the Fulani and we joked together about the days events.

In the midst of all this . . . I surpassed my 1st year anniversary in Niger!!

This past Tuesdy marked my anniversary and it was such a joy to be in the village working among my people for why I came. Sharing God's love and chatting with them about life. Sharing food, sharing knowledge and sharing laughter. Our God is wonderful indeed!

Stay tuned over the next few posts as I share of my time in the villages - stories and photos - my joys and the journey.

Thank you for travelling with me this last year as I learned of life in Niger, learned of myself, and learned of our God!!

PS - A few photos as a "trailer promo"!
